Force Academy Introduction
The OSU Force Academy is one of the most successful programs in Canada with individual and team performances. It is designed to provide high-level coaching and playing experiences for individuals who are committed to being their absolute best.
Teams within the Force Academy compete at the highest tiers of competitive soccer within Canada and follow a well-designed training program which works through a detailed curriculum. The OSU Force Academy curriculum is designed to provide the right exposure to quality training for each age group and includes technical, tactical, physical and psychological components to each session.
Ultimately, we hope that these tools provided to them will help players become the best they can possibly be.
Since 2003, over 200+ graduates of the Force Academy have gone to compete across North America for colleges and universities. In 2017 alone, there were 75 graduates playing! Some Academy graduates are also fortunate to be brought in to provincial, national and professional teams. You can learn more about these players in our Alumni section.
Force Academy Structure
The Force Academy is designed to have a stepping-stone approach to the training and game play opportunities as players progress each year through the program. Players are able to gain early exposure to Academy level programming within the Pre-Academy, before entering into the U9-U10 program. The focus shifts slightly as we go into the Pre-OPDL ages of U11-U12, and then progressing into the U13-U14 Junior Academy Program. At U15 and above, the goal is ultimately help each player achieve their goal within soccer - whether that be to play professionally, or in university or college. At each age group, the Technical Director has placed coaches who have the knowledge, experience and qualifications to deliver the Force Academy Curriculum
A Word from the Technical Director - Paul Harris
The OSU Force Academy aspires to be the elite soccer development program in Ontario and Canada. The Academy has been recognized for the success of its teams at all levels. However, player development is, and always will be, the main goal.
The Academy believes in playing, entertaining, and encouraging players to be creative. By learning through the game players are able to reach their full potential. Athletes selected into the Academy must have the attitude and drive to play at the highest level of the game, both nationally and internationally.
